I began my teaching career in south Texas in 1996 with Teach for America. I then moved to Austin to continue teaching and completed my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas in 2001. I moved to North Carolina in 2001, taught a year in Henderson County, then began my time at Francine Delany in 2002. I have experience ranging from the primary grades through middle
school. I have worked as both a teacher of exceptional
children as well as a regular classroom teacher during my career. At FDNSC I have taught first, second, third, and sixth grades. I am a certified elementary classroom
teacher, exceptional children’s teacher, and reading specialist. I
completed my National Board Certification in literacy in 2008. |
